| The three-mast schooner Atlantic has completed her third successful season. For me a highlight was the week spent on board in Turkey. Sublime wind & weather and luckily our friend James Robinson Taylor on board. James took the opportunity to conduct numerous photo shoots and the results are stunning. Please check www.jrtphoto.com
if you would like to see more images of that great week.
2009 | Measuring almost 70 metres overall, Atlantic is the largest of all schooners recreated. Her original design dates back to 1903 but her ultimate fame came from the speed record set sailing from New York to England, a record that stood for 100 years. She was built at the van der Graaf Shipyard in Holland. Carrying close to 1800m2 sail, Touchwood custom cut all spruce for booms and gaffs which where built at Ventis in Enkhuizen. For the interior some of the finest quarter sawn Alaskan Cedar was supplied which was used as cabinet lining. Atlantic will set sail in 2010 but already has many stories to tell, more on this exquisite beauty at: www.schooner-atlantic.com
